Oh man! I am completely overwhelmed by the comments, emails and tweets I have received about my upcoming move to New York. Just wanted to say "thanks" to everyone who has reached out to offer their support!

new york photos by bekka palmer

I had a few free hours today so I took a bus from New Jersey to Manhattan and did some wandering. I ended up spending a little while at Madison Square Park (one of my favorite NYC parks) with my camera. It was meltingly hot, but worth every minute!

A few iPhone snaps, clockwise from top left: the view from the bus before entering the Lincoln Tunnel, steamed pork buns at Momofuku, the Chelsea Savoy Hotel, Kate Spade 5th Ave window display. The Chelsea Savoy was the first hotel I ever stayed in in NYC. I was a freshmen in high school and have been smitten with this city ever since!

ready to road trip by bekka palmer

My mom and I drove her old (my new) car from Denver to Palo Alto a few weekends ago. Our first stop out of Denver? Breakfast of course. Then we realized we had zero music so we found this nice hippy-smelling used CD shop in Silverthorne and grabbed some tunes.

colorado and utah scenery

I snapped a few shots from inside the car right outside of Grand Junction, Colorado and at the Colorado / Utah border. I have always loved that the sign says "Colorful Colorado." The top photo is in colorful Colorado and the bottom one is at some salt flats in Utah. It was truly a beautiful drive. I didn't get any Nevada photos, wish I had because there are crazy big valleys there with huge long straights of road. It was hot as heck, but we made it successfully in just two days.

You can see a few more on flickr.

photos by bekka palmer from the california coast

On July 4th we drove from San Jose to San Diego down the 101 and parts of highway 1. The views of the coast were unbeatable. The fireworks coming in to San Diego were pretty spectacular as well. I could see them from at least 3 cites from Del Mar all the way down to Chula Vista.

americana photoshoot by la vida creations

I had so much fun styling this photoshoot with La Vida Creations photography and Taylored Occasions. We were even featured on Style Me Pretty on Monday! The wedding shoot had an Americana theme just in time for the Fourth of July. I can't wait to work with this talented group again.

My favorite scene was the horse wall (top photo) the horses were used in lieu of a placecard table. We also had a ton of fun with desserts and the cute animals at The Condor's Nest Ranch.
