you just have to say no

Sometimes you just have to say no. I find it extremely difficult to say no to people. Do you want to go to dinner? Yes. But actually I mean no, I would rather go home and eat by myself and not talk to anyone. Do you want to do (insert activity here). Yes. But actually no, no I don't.

I've gotten better about saying no, but my no skills could use some work. So ask me to do something soon that way I can practice telling you no.

rainbow parade

Friday morning, Jessi Arrington made rainbow magic in DUMBO at Creative Mornings. I must say it was the best way to start the day and it made me feel like the animation above. You can see more photos here.

cokeweed band

Last night I went to see my roommates' twin sister's band Coke Weed play in the Gowanus. We had a good boogie at Little Field a small & cool venue in Brooklyn. The band played a bunch of new songs and their second album is coming soon, but you can check out their first album at cokeweed.com.

dress warm in kate spade

The weather took a turn for the cold last week in New York. Keep warm with these cute pieces from Kate Spade.

doing nothing

Whatever happened to the art of doing nothing? Why do I feel guilty for not doing something "productive" every, single day? I have been reading Leo Babauta's new book The Effortless Life and am realizing that it's okay to take a day off and just *gasp* have fun for an entire day. You should try it, it's superb.

joshua cornell box

I came across this random collection of scanned ephemera from artist Joseph Cornell on Pugly Pixel today. It was super random, but kind of fun to make collages from the downloads available.

sunset from studiomates

You know it's going to be great when Raul comes running into the studio and says, "Come quick, grab a camera!" We made it down the hall just in time to see this orange sunset; the best part is the sunset reflecting off the Empire State Building. Talk about a magical New York moment.
